Sheriff Pickard reports that on November 26th Deputies Napier and Hudson went to Dee Drive, Flat Lick, KY. to make contact with a suspect in reference to a burglary and criminal mischief. Deputy Napier had obtained information through investigation on (accused) James Shelton that he had sold approx. 200 lbs of copper wiring at a location in Virginia. The accused lives within seeing distance of two metal recycling centers and one had been burglarized days prior with a multitude of copper stolen. After arresting the accused for Violation of D.V.O. and the burglary officers obtained consent to search of the residence. Deputies discovered a indoor grow in the rear bedroom and a electric meter belonging to Cumberland Valley Electric. While searching outside several Meth Precursors along with Meth generators and bolt cutters where located. Deputy’s contacted Sheriff John Pickard of the findings and D.E.S.I. Meth team along with Knox County Social Services was contacted to respond. While the Sheriff and deputies awaited the D.E.S.I. Meth team to arrive. Officers was advised the Meth Team had located another Meth Lab on a traffic stop in Bell County while enroute to Dee Drive. Social Services placed the children in a safe environment and the accused was lodged in the Knox County Jail.
